So, I have been using watercolors a lot lately, and I decided to show you some of my creations. This is the first mermaid I have drawn in a long while, and I don't think everything is proportionate. But, I love the colors, and her hair, and pretty much everything about her.

It used to have gloves to give more of a formal air, but I decided to cut those out because they were drawn poorly. (Not the first time I have failed gloves.)

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

The reason I haven't been posting, and the reason why I will not be posting any outfits today or Sunday, is because my computer is at a computer shop getting a new motherboard. The motherboard is fried. It has been giving me considerable trouble, and so now it is getting fixed.

This is Anoka, the Sixth Faerie Girl. She is also the last one of this set.
I was really pleased with how she came out--I like her face, and all of her clothes. Her hair is my favorite part about her. But she does have expressive eyes. =]
My favorite dress of hers is the long blue one, with the cute neckline. And the small vintage looking pink shirt with the grey skirt. Classy.

I hope you all have enjoyed the Faerie Girls! I know I have enjoyed creating them. As I said, Anoka is the last one. I can continue the girls if I you all want me too. Please comment to let me know.

This is a 60's Dress for Emi. I know I just posted for her, but I have more than five outfits for her ready to post, and she honestly does not have that large of a wardrobe. So here is another outfit for her.

About the dress:
I was inspired by the 1960's, and found a photo of a similar dress. I tweaked it up some. Unfortunately, I no longer have the photo. I do remember that I made the belt taller and wider.

I have more 60's outfits for Emi on the way. I am doing this as a series, so I'm not posting them all together like a set. =]

I love the response I got from my last post, Sci-Fi Set for Emi. Thanks for all of those wonderful comments!

My First Halloween Costume Paper Doll Outfits!

Okay...So I know that I have been missing a lot of posting days lately. And I feel really bad about it. I am so sorry! Things have been hectic. I have been buried under school, work, and battling frequent illnesses. So. I am back today. (...Obviously not a posting day.) But at least I came back!!

Oh, and a very very special congratulations to Liana. (From Liana's Paper Dolls, the most popular paper doll website ever). I hope you are feeling better soon! I am so happy for you!!

Now, onto the outfits.

These took me a total hour to draw, ink and color, and then another hour to edit and ready for posting. And then 25 minutes writing this post. So you can be sure these are good outfits!

From left to right:
the purple dress is pretty much a basic one. Only I did and over skirt. I definitely need to work on that. My favorite part of the dress: The little decorative frog-button. It is so tiny and cute! I think it adds a lot of detail to the dress; without it it would look plain.

The middle dress...It reminds me of several things. Cultural Canadian clothing. I have no idea what cultural Canadian clothing looks like. I don't even know why that reminds me that! It just does. ;) My favorite part of the dress: The overlapping skirt and the fringe. Definitely one of my weaknesses, fringe is.
Another thing it reminds me of is American Indian clothing. Just the colors and the patterns...
And elves. Most certainly elves. Only they would eliminate the fringe.

And lastly, the blue fairy-ish dress!
I wanted something different, instead of a regular dress with sleeves, and some pretty colors. So I did this nifty shawl-like thing with some ribbon. (Almost like more fringe.) I also incorporated some pretty patterns in also. I think I am getting tired of plain colors.

So, there you go.

I hope that was a good first Halloween post. ;D I don't celebrate Halloween, nor do I do anything for Halloween, so this was a little weird. But anyway.

I drew this on the back of an envelope. It started as a doodle. But then I put in some shading...and it just evolved from there.
I was going to do some floral print on her dress, but I decided against it because it would be to much.

This is Dragna. The Fifth Faerie Girl. She is actually late. I should have had her posted several weeks ago. Sorry about that.

I just realized that she doesn't have as many outfits as the other girls. But that is okay.

Dragna has always had a passion for bright clothing that makes a big statement. She has her own garden were she grows the special plants that give the very exotic dyes. She then sews her own clothes, designing every stitch. Then she uses the magical dyes and creates truly individual dresses.

Her favorite activity is making music on her tambourine and running through a field of beautiful, blooming flowers.

This is an outfit for Janelle! Do you recognize it? You should! It is from her main outfit, which was black and white. I colored it, as promised. So there it is.

I want to apologize (once again) that I did not post on Saturday.

I decided to make it a wool skirt because of the texture the coloring pencil. I though it would be a fitting match.

I recently received a comment on a Blog of Paper Dolls Weebly, asking whether or not I got the dress idea from Liana's Paper Doll Blog. I just wanted to let everyone know that most of my dresses and outfits are from my head. I usually will state when I have copied someone else's dress. My work is copyrighted with a creative commons, and so if I copied someone else's work without credit, that would be voiding my copyright.

I guess what I am trying to say is that I try to credit people, and I do not steal other's creative, lovely work. Although I do forget at times, I do my best to credit others.

As for Janelle, I have more outfits coming for her! I think she has real potential.

This dress came to me while I was at the laundro-mat! Amazing, right? It's good to have a sketch book with you wherever you go!

Janelle is Grecian

Lily fromSilent Moonstone asked for some Grecian styled dresses and outfits. I decidedto attempt this with Janelle, since she needs clothes anyway. And I think itturned out rather well. I used some new techniques and gained somenew experience, which is good.

What do you think, Lily?

I had had a school class on Ancient Greece last school semester,so this was rather easy for me. Some of the designs I made up, so they look alittle American. =] But I tried to stay as historically accurate aspossible.

Obviously these clothes would be for a great lady of high statureand importance. They are luxury clothes, with color and soft flow-y fabric andbeads. The jewelry are gold and silver, with precious gems. And the sandals aremade of a more comfortable material than the peasants of that day owned.

The only real peasant dress there is the drab brown one.

I was not 100% sure that the Greeks had patterns in theirclothing, weaved directly in the fabric, that was not embroidered. So to be on thesafe side, I stuck with solids.

I do not usually make multiple-dresses-posts, but I think I mayattempt to try it with Janelle. So far she seems like a versatile doll withmany many opportunities. If you have any suggestions for her, please letme know via comment or email.

Well, here I am again!
So, to introduce this doll:
Her name is Janelle, and as you can see, she ended up being Asian. Not that I have a problem with that, I just wasn't expecting it to turn out that way.
She has some great clothes, and I realized just now that I posted one of her not-so-great clothes first. Oops! I was hoping to get them all posted together, but I needed something to post now, so I just did it this way. Sort of a bummer. This is a black and white outfit, so you can color it yourself. I will be coloring all her clothes too, including this one.

Until I really get back into the hand of things, this might be what my posts consist of. Drawings and doodles, and some odd ball things. Grrr, it makes me frustrated. I wish I could have more time to devote to this blog!!

So, I found a picture similar to this, and now I am unsure as to whether I traced this or drew it myself. I don't know anymore. But, one thing I like about it is how his spikes are soft at the top of his head, and then his tail spikes get sharp. ;D

Finished the Drawing Week--Sleeping Girl in Bathtub

Umm... my notes on it are that it is a girl sleeping in a bathtub with lights around. It was done in watercolor, so that is why everything looks kinda funny and there isn't much detail. It's very stylized.

New Look!

So, how does it look?

Is it nice? Easy to use? Is it more visually pleasing? What do you think about it? Did you notice it matches the weebly blog? Do you mind the name change? Do you think this will work? What are you thinking?

So, I got a new template. I changed some things around, and got rid of some things. I am really thinking about getting rid of the PDF page. I never ever update it. I am not sure if anyone uses it. I don't have time to update it. And most of the time I just never feel like it because it is so much work!

Do you use it? Do you like it? Do you think I should keep it? Do you, do you, do you?

Do you mind the new posting schedule? It is Thursdays and Saturdays.

Here I Am

Hello, all!

So, I have missed about two months of posting. And I am sorry.

Reasons;
Extra work.
Not feeling well. (This is something I have no idea about. It comes in little spurts. A couple days feeling grumpy, tired, ect. and then it goes away for about three, four days and then comes back. It really is weird. Prayers appreciated!)
And just no artistic inspiration. (that is a biggie for me. No inspiration, no dolls or clothes!)

So. I have thought about the blog. I promise I am not quitting the blog. I am just going to revamp it. You all probably know that I am in the (very slow) process (again) of trying to make the blog more visually clean and user friendly.The first time was good. It was a good experience, it was a good idea. It just didn't work out like I it needed it too. So here we are starting over again.

That was put off when summer came. And then the whole blog was put off. And then drawing outfits and dolls was put off. And everything was put off!

So now...

I am coming back!

My plans:

Get the blog more visually pleasing and user friendly.
Revamp the posting schedule so I can do it more effectively and without feeling rushed.
Work on more dolls and outfits.
Narrow down to at least 3 main dolls of the site that always get new clothes.
Work on the Weebly Blog and make it more efficient.
Keep everything up to date.
Do the things on this list.

What do you all think? Is it reasonable? Does it sound good? Do you have any feedback for me? Any more ideas? Questions?

I would love to hear what you have to say on this.

This is a watercolor waterfall that I did for my art class. (I did a lot of art for my art class.) Even though it is so simple, It has a lot of personality and detail. This really was just a doodle.
One thing I like the most about this is the color. It is vivid. And it all works together.

This was a freestyle drawing, with no pencil. That means no erasing. You can see on her arm where I had some trouble.
Why did I post her:
She looks so happy! She is very good. She has an hour-glass shape. (That's my real body shape.) Her skin tone and hair look wonderful. Overall, she is very appealing to (my) eyes.
What was hard to draw about her:
As I mentioned, it was freestyle with only pen. That is a little hard for me to do yet, because I usually draw in pencil, and then ink over it. This was a good challenge because I did it without erasing.

The foxes I drew for an art class. I did a regular pencil and then I did a marker and ink. I like the marker and ink one better. It has more personality. I think they are really cute. Foxes are one of my favorite animals too.

This fairy I drew from my head. (Make sure to click on the picture so that you can see it better.) I had the most trouble with her arms. They did not want to go they way I wanted them too. The dress I partly thought up on my own, and I also partly got some of the design from a bridal book. The thing that I like the most about this is her face and the clothes. The detail is so good, I thought this should be something I post, whether or not her arms look right or not.

The scanner works now. I think it didn't work before because the computer was updating. (Without me knowing it.)

So here is the first post of Drawing Week! Make sure to click on the pictures so you can see them better.

First off we have some more stick people. Nothing really spectacular about them, I just though it would be nice to post them. I like drawing them. Do you like them? The one on the right was a little harder to draw. Do you see the man there too? He has a flower for the other girl. =]

This picture here is well, a zombie. I do not like zombies, I do not watch zombie movies, I do not prepare for the zombie apocalypse. (To the horror of some people I know.) We were just doing poses in my art class (that is finished,) and we had to sketch it within a minute. Then we were supposed to take it home and make it detailed. (I forgot during the week and did it on the way in the car ^^) Anyway, I thought it was good enough to post. Any thoughts?

Hello!

Well. A new dress for Emi! It's watercolor. I used my watercolor pencils for this. I think it will fit... I tried it on the computer (see picture) and it looked like it would do fine. If it doesn't it's because it's watercolor and I haven't perfected that yet. I did shading again, though. =] Do you like it? Do you think I should continue trying watercolor outfits

I have lots of new things coming up! On the last week of June, and into the first week of July will be the "All Drawings and Watercolor" weeks. I will post my many endeavors into watercolor and my many many many sketches.
Another new thing that I have coming is another doll! She's is very realistic, and I am going to have a black and white version, a marker version, and a coloring pencil version, all of the same doll. (And clothes!) I have plenty of ideas for her series of clothes (yes, she's have series of clothes, not just clothes posted one at a time!!) and she will have accessories! I am really excited for this doll. I hope you all will like her!

Drawing day!!
This is a random girl i drew with black coloring pencil. (I know, amazing right? ^^) I found it a little bit challenging since I could not erase. If you ever saw me draw, you might be surprised with how much I erase. But since I am part perfectionist, it's okay. (I inherited it from my mom.) =]
So anyway, I thought this would be something good to post since (1, it was a challenge, (2, it looks pretty good, (3 and three, I did some shading.
I love shading.
What do you think about it?

This is a nice Arabic-like dress for Skye. I did not research anything, just drew. It ended up looking something like a Desert kind of dress.

Paired with sandal-heels and three nice potion jars. haha Not sure how good the jars are. ;)

Aramath is a fun Faerie. She likes dark colors, but she can tolerate a splash of bright color here and there. Her favorite bright colors are yellow and pink.

This is a suggestion!! Lys, from the wonderful blog, daily lys, has asked for Harajuku style in response for the I Need Your Input page and post.

As a specific outfit-suggestion, can I request something Japanese-pop-culture-y? If you look up "harajuku fashion" on google you can see all kinds of brilliantly colourful outfits. I'd love to see your take on that style! :D

I didn't make this specifically for this suggestion though. When I had drawn this, I wasn't sure how to color it. I say it looked like Japanese street fashion, and I hadn't colored it yet. So I decided to use it for this.

I don't have so much to say about this, except I like the yellow.

One other thing--I will be posting some more Harajuku soon. I like the style a lot.

I was looking for something in blue... but it had to be feminine and elegant. After shading in the blue, I was stumped on what color to use next.

Suddenly the brown stuck out at me. I decided to take a chance and use it. I don't think I usually use brown and blue together. I was surprised when I saw how nice it turned out. I think this is one of my favorites for Skye.

I left the sleeves and slippers a lighter blue for better effect. It makes you focus on the bodice more.

I chose Skye for this dress because she is one of the most versatile dolls I have. She has everything thing from fairie, princess, medieval, modern, punk, gangster, vintage, and so many other styles I can't name them all. So I thought she would be a good candidate for this dress.

So there you go. ;] Do you like it, Ashita?

I have been working on some great paper dolls and outfits lately. Please stay tuned for them. I am also working on some new series. I have some celebrity dresses and some prom things.... But I won't give too much away. haha

Does anyone have any suggestions? If you do, please send them to me. Comment or email. =] I had gotten some response from the I Need Your Input post and page. You can see them here. I was very happy to get some response from my readers.... I like it. I wish I would get more. I like to know what you guys want to see on here.

The two dresses there are the same dress--just the one on the left is coloring pencil and the one on the right is water color pencil. I thought they turned out pretty good. I like how all the pleats and detail look very crisp and sophisticated.

At least you all know now that when the first time I posted this dress I posted it for the wrong doll. I'm surprised someone didn't catch it sooner!

Oh, and the graphic on the picture is from pixelscrapper.com. I forgot to credit it on the picture.

This is a casual outfit for the most recent doll, Emi. It's nice for sping days, and summer days too, since the shirt is 100% cotton. ;]

I like the colors of it more than anything. And the fact that she has shoes that look like a pair of mine.

This is another cape for Skye. She likes those a lot. But this one has beads on. Pretty little beads. Plus boots. Big, bulky brown boots. Topped with a choker necklace and a silver belt, Skye has everything she needs to look great any afternoon. (In cold-ish weather. This would be severely warm in 70 or 65 degrees!) ;]

The choker necklace didn't turn out as I planned. I had wanted it black lace to match the cape, but it messed up. I need to work on my lace-making skills.

I have been playing around with adding some nice, attractive graphics to my pictures. Do you like them? Dislike them? Any suggestions on where to get more? Do you think they add to the outfit or take away from it?

As tomorrow is Easter, I have decided to post on Saturday (evening) to save time tomorrow. =] I hope you don't mind. All though, as Paper Doll People are usually laid-back, I don't think you guys should have a problem with it. haha.

I don't know if any of you have noticed, but there are some technical difficulties on the Paper Dolls page, and the work on the Links page has been post-poned. Also, the PDF page is slow coming. This is an outfit for Skye, and it is a cozy gray shawl with cotton sweat pants. Very comfortable.

And she has a different hair-style. I succeeded after many failed attempts. I am very happy that that turned out the way it did. I was thinking it wasn't going to work, but, it did!

Hello, there!
Finally, after a long time, I am back. Things have slowed down some, so I think I will be able to post all the time now. I am all organized and I have a schedule, too. So that's all good.

I still have school, but I will get through that. I will have school well into June, I think.

This is an outfit that I wear to church occasionally. I love my blue jeans. The brand is called "So..." . I don't know if you have heard of them or not. =] The wonderful green shirt is Sonoma Life+Style. And then my sneakers are Chucks Converse.
For the shirt, I colored it in #62 green marker, and I used my white prismacolor on top of it to make the flowers. =] I was very pleased with myself.
WINNER OF THE CONTEST: Ashita. She was my only contestant, and although she was close, she did not guess the right one! The color number is 05. She guessed 35, which is very close. So, Ashita, you can ask me color one of my black and white ones, or send in a request of something you found or something like that. Or you could ask me to do a series on some type of clothing or anything you like.

Hello! I finally made it! Sorry that this post was so weird!!

About the outfits. The one on the left is Ciara's favorite for going to the park on fall days. And the one on the left is a pretty gown set in medieval or maybe Greek times. I'm not sure, I just drew whatever came to my head!! =]

Faerie Girls Part 1!!! Finally!
I have a contest question for you, too!! On picture #2, the last dress to the right, (labeled #1), what color do you think the yellow is on the color chart? What you need to do is this: pick out a color on the chart, and leave your answer in the comments or email me the number. (the numbers are right under the color) Does that make sense? If not, please email me, and I will try to explain it better.
About the doll--I colored her with pencils, but all her clothes are marker. What happened was this: I got my markers after I drew the doll, and I had to use my markers. So, that is how all the dolls are going to be. (I have like six or eight in this series, and I might make more.)
I love this doll so much!!

Here is a few drawings that I did. No outfits today, just drawings. Sorry. I have a lot on my plate right now. ;]
But I felt like I should post something.
I did these a couple months ago... As you can see, I have a few good ones, and a few bad ones. I have more, too. So you'll see some like these pretty soon.

As for those marker dresses... They should appear soon. I have some for Ciara, and then some for the set called Faerie Girls.
